13 Feb HANDICAPPED ARE WE ALL
In the events of life appears
The lives of peopleThis angle of sight
Leaves the wonderer in wander
A complete distinction
Of one to the other
We have the A’s, the B’s
The C’s, the D’s
Blah…blah…blah!
There it dawns on me;
which of these categories
am I?
I get obstructed.
Seen from afar these appears blur
At a little shift it comes
To none, none and none
Still living in illusionary proportions

Down in one way resonates
Our own side of “downness”
We are caught with few words
In wounded bodies to speak
Many do not speak at all
Seeing through the smiles
Friendly words and gestures
Love and intimacy
Of a resentful heart gives hope
Let us be ready to change
Try new things
Adapt to new people
Create a lasting bond
And help to grow in
Human-dignity
Respect
Care
And self-reliance
This poetical writing is dedicated to the students of Chileshe Chipela Home.
They are indeed great friends of mine.

Posted at 04:15h, 17 FebruaryThis poem truly signifies the uniqueness of each of us but one that makes us all beautiful. We are all handicapped indeed if we do not see it this way.
